2024 – Australia: Sydney

We were extremely excited to visit the big city down under. The adrenaline was palpable throughout the ship, with many guests on the top deck as we sailed beneath the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was wonderful to reunite with Judy and Ray, who took us on a grand tour of the northern part of the city, including the beaches, stunning homesteads, and some breathtaking views.

After spending a delightful day with Judy and Ray, we expressed our heartfelt thanks and wished them good wishes for the next days on their Cunard Cruise to Tasmania, celebrating one of Ray’s special birthdays.

We wanted to use the frequent ferries as if we were commuters, so Judy and Ray dropped us off late afternoon at Manly, a popular beach area and commuter belt. We boarded one of the ferries and sailed to Kings Street Wharf, in the city’s heart.

Strolled down to the Opera House, ascended the steps, and then joined a crowd at the Opera Bar, providing splendid views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Sydney City
On our second day, we chose to explore the city. We woke up early, but most of the attractions were closed until 10 a.m. We walked along King’s Street Wharf and then across the footbridge to check out the Maritime Museum. That museum was also closed, so we returned and visited the Aquarium.
