At the end of my employment, after 32+ years in the nuclear industry, including a secondment to the Devonport Royal Dockyard, I set up my own company. Devonport wanted to keep me on until the project was completed. They gave me a couple of options, one of which was to form my own company. I took that route and formed New Direction Maritime.
This company kept me employed. I initially worked at the dockyard and subsequently as a free agent, providing management support services to offices and plants across the country.
The company kept me busy during my last two years at Devonport. And subsequently at various locations around the UK, from Dorchester in the south to Caithness in the north Highland area of Scotland. My work areas covered auditing, systems management advice and other related support services. I worked with another group of engineers who had recently left their parent company, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

In 2016, I closed New Direction and concentrated on my hotRIBS activities.
